For church teams

Make your church listing more useful.

Accurate, practical details help someone turn a search into a visit.

Quick answer

Adding or updating a church on Church Near Me is free. Send the church’s name, worship address, denomination, current service times and confirmed access details, with an official source where possible. Our form prepares an email for you to review and send. Your name and role help us check the request.

Church Near Me editorial · Published 8 September 2026 Desk-researched from parish, diocesan and denominational publications. Where a time or fee is stated, the source and check date are named. Confirm with the parish before travelling.

Five things a useful listing needs

Identity and location

The church’s own name, denomination, full worship address and postcode. Tell us if your office, Sunday venue and correspondence address are different.

Services and current building status

For each regular service, give the day, start time and name. Say explicitly when a building is closed, under refurbishment, shared or no longer used for services.

A welcome for first-time visitors

A short, specific introduction: where to enter, whom to ask for, service length, language, music and what visitors can expect. Link to an official welcome page or entrance photo when available. Describe your own congregation rather than copying a general description of the denomination.

Access and children’s provision

Only list facilities you can confirm. Describe step-free routes, toilets, hearing support and children’s arrangements separately, including any limits a visitor needs to know.

Public contacts and sources

Link to your official website, current service notice or newsletter. Supply only email addresses and phone numbers the church wants made public. A website contact form is fine.

Tell us exactly what has changed

For a correction, include the existing listing link, the incorrect wording and its replacement. For example, a denomination correction does not confirm all the church’s facilities or service times. A building awaiting refurbishment needs a clear no-services notice so visitors do not travel there expecting worship.

For a new church, include the town and postcode so we can check for an existing record. If you meet in a school or community centre, use the service venue and explain which days you meet there.

How the update process works

  1. Prepare your details. Open the free update form and include your name and role for verification. Send a short correction, or expand the sections for welcome, services and access information.
  2. Review and send the email. The form shows a draft first. Check it, then choose Open email app to send it. You can also copy the message or download a text file. Nothing is sent automatically.
  3. We review the request. We check the supplied source and may ask for clarification. A submitted request is not an automatic edit.
  4. The checked change is published. A source and check date explain what was reviewed. Material corrections also appear in our public corrections log.

Does a church need to pay?

No. Church listings, corrections and editorial information are free. Our charity partnership programme is a separate, labelled advertising service and does not buy a church’s position in search results.

Ready to send an update?

A clear official source is more useful than a long description. Please leave out private contact details and unconfirmed facilities.
