## About

Belfast Cathedral — formally the Cathedral Church of St Anne — is built in Hiberno-Romanesque style and has been under construction in stages from 1899. A unique feature is that it spans two dioceses: Connor and Down & Dromore. The interior contains striking mosaic floors, the tomb of Lord Carson (the Ulster Unionist leader), and a striking stainless-steel 'Spire of Hope', added in 2007, which has become one of the most recognised landmarks of Belfast's skyline. A major restoration completed in 2019 enhanced the Welcome Area and installed new visitor facilities.
