## About

The original 14th-century St Michael's Cathedral was destroyed in the Coventry Blitz of November 1940. The new cathedral, designed by Sir Basil Spence and consecrated in 1962, stands directly alongside the preserved ruin and is celebrated as one of the great works of post-war British architecture. It houses the famous Cross of Nails, a symbol of forgiveness used by Coventry's worldwide Community of the Cross of Nails ministry of reconciliation.
