St Bride's Church on Fleet Street in the City of London is the 'journalists' church' — the traditional church of the British press, located in the heart of the historic newspaper district. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1675, its wedding cake spire is said to have inspired the tiered design of wedding cakes. St Bride's was badly damaged in the Blitz and entirely restored in 1957.
