## About

St George's, Hanover Square is the parish church of Mayfair, built between 1721 and 1724 to designs by John James as one of the 'Queen Anne Churches' commissioned under the Act of 1711. Its reredos from the workshop of Grinling Gibbons frames a Last Supper painted by William Kent, and the windows contain early 16th-century Flemish glass. George Frideric Handel worshipped here regularly, and the church is home to the annual London Handel Festival. Worship is in the dignified tradition of the Book of Common Prayer, led by a fine professional choir.
