## About

Truro Cathedral, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, is the seat of the Bishop of Truro and the cathedral church of the Diocese of Truro for Cornwall. It was the first cathedral to be built on a new site in England since Salisbury in 1220, and the first new Anglican cathedral to be completed since the Reformation. Designed by John Loughborough Pearson in Early English Gothic style, it dominates the city skyline with its three spires. The cathedral is home to the famous Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, a Christmas tradition begun here in 1880.
