## About

Wells Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Bath and Wells. Built between 1175 and 1490, it was the first English cathedral built entirely in the Early English Gothic style. Its West Front contains nearly 300 medieval sculpted figures, and the inverted 'scissor arches' beneath the central tower are among the most distinctive engineering features in any English cathedral.
