About Bath Abbey
Bath Abbey was founded as a monastery in 675 AD, rebuilt as a Norman cathedral in the 12th century and again in the 16th century in the Perpendicular Gothic style — making it the last of England's great medieval churches. Famous for its fan vaulting, west front carving of Jacob's Ladder, and use as the coronation church for King Edgar of England in 973.

What is worship in this tradition usually like?
Anglican (Church of England) worship follows the rhythm of the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. Sunday services often range from a said early-morning Holy Communion to a main mid-morning Sung Eucharist or Morning Prayer, and many parishes hold Choral Evensong later in the day. Services blend set liturgy, hymns, Scripture readings and a sermon. Everyone is welcome, whether you are exploring faith or returning to church.
This describes the wider tradition. The format at this particular church may vary.
