About Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St Sophia
The Cathedral Church of the Divine Wisdom of God, known as St Sophia's, is the Greek Orthodox cathedral of London and the seat of the Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain. Built between 1877 and 1882 in Byzantine Revival style by John Oldrid Scott, it served the wealthy Greek shipping community of Bayswater and is now Grade I listed. The cathedral is the spiritual heart of the Greek Orthodox community in the United Kingdom and offers the Divine Liturgy each Sunday and on feast days.
