About Saint Andrew's Church

Bath Abbey — the Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul — is the most visited church in the South West of England. The present Perpendicular Gothic building was begun in 1499 by Bishop Oliver King, who reportedly dreamed of angels climbing ladders to heaven (which are depicted on the west front). Bath Abbey serves as an active Church of England parish and welcomes over 500,000 visitors each year.

What is worship in this tradition usually like?

Anglican (Church of England) worship follows the rhythm of the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. Sunday services often range from a said early-morning Holy Communion to a main mid-morning Sung Eucharist or Morning Prayer, and many parishes hold Choral Evensong later in the day. Services blend set liturgy, hymns, Scripture readings and a sermon. Everyone is welcome, whether you are exploring faith or returning to church.

This describes the wider tradition. The format at this particular church may vary.
