About St Matthew's
Truro Cathedral — the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary — was the first new cathedral built in England since St Paul's Cathedral in London, consecrated in 1887. Designed by John Loughborough Pearson in the Early English Gothic style, its three spires are a landmark of the Cornish city of Truro. The cathedral incorporated the old parish church of St Mary's into its south aisle.

What is worship in this tradition usually like?
Anglican (Church of England) worship follows the rhythm of the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. Sunday services often range from a said early-morning Holy Communion to a main mid-morning Sung Eucharist or Morning Prayer, and many parishes hold Choral Evensong later in the day. Services blend set liturgy, hymns, Scripture readings and a sermon. Everyone is welcome, whether you are exploring faith or returning to church.
This describes the wider tradition. The format at this particular church may vary.
